This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Meet Ranger Crow at the Visitor Center to learn how to use an atlatl just like the folks of prehistory did!
The atlatl is a tool that many Native American groups, including the Cherokee, used to throw spears. Atlatls use leverage to propel the spears further, faster, and harder to hunt game such as deer in more modern times and even megafauna like the mammoth during the Ice Age!
This program is intended for teenagers and up. Younger kids are welcome to come learn and watch, but will not be able to participate in atlatl throwing.
