This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Enjoy awesome views and rich forest discoveries at Flint Rock as we follow the crest of Holston Mountain. Be prepared for some steep places, some very potent stinging nettle patches, and some fine high-country hiking. This hike will also offer a chance to view a variety of unusual native plants and wildlife. We'll cover about 8 miles of rugged terrain.
Registration is limited. Sign up soon!
Please note that this is a DIFFICULT hike. Participants must be prepared for rolling hills, slippery terrain, and the presence of stinging nettle, black bears and venomous snakes. Wear long pants and sturdy hiking boots. Bring plenty of food and water.
We'll meet at the big parking lot uphill from park headquarters (former pool parking lot), departing PROMPTLY at 8 AM to carpool to the trailhead. It's about an hour-long drive to the start of our hike.
