This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Ready for a real HIKING ADVENTURE? Join us as we head out to a remote corner of Bald Mountain in nearby Greene County TN. We'll have a chance to experience high country geology, fascinating history, and unique native plant communities. Weather permitting, we will also enjoy some of the finest autumn views in our region. We'll cover about 6 miles of rugged, rocky terrain.
Please note that this is a STRENUOUS hike. Participants must be prepared for slippery, rocky trails, steep cliffs, and the possibility of thorny shrubs, black bears and venomous snakes. Wear long pants and sturdy hiking boots. Bring plenty of food and water.
We'll meet at big parking lot uphill from Park Headquarters (former) pool parking lot, departing PROMPTLY at 7:30 AM to carpool to the trailhead. It's about a one and a half hour drive (including some steep gravel roads) to the start of our hike.
