This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Crafting is a longstanding Appalachian tradition, born out of necessity and grounded in self-reliance. Traditional crafts often carried distinctive features that reflected their makers and the regions they came from. While we may no longer craft out of necessity, we can still honor these traditions and share our own stories through handmade work. Join Seasonal Interpretive ranger Cameron for a brief history on Appalachian craft preservation and an instructional craft making program.
Participants will have the option to make the angels eye or a finger weaved bookmark during this program. Registration and a $3.00 dollar fee is required. This program will take place in the Head of Sequatchie visitors center at 1:00 PM CST. Email cameron.d.johnson@tn.gov with any questions.
