This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Come join Park Ranger Paul Schauer at Noon-1pm for a moderate 1-hour hike in the Hall Farm to view firsthand our native grasslands initiative at Radnor Lake. We will meet at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Center then hike down the hall drive, then down two bushhogged paths thru our field areas in the Hall Farm to get a glimpse of wildlife, birds, pollinators such as butterflies including (hopefully) Monarch Butterflies on their migration south.
This hike is off trail; ranger led and will be a moderate hike thru the field areas to allow visitors to experience firsthand our #1 resource management priority since 2013 as we convert areas of the natural area to native grasslands to support specific wildlife species with this critical habitat.
We will start promptly at noon, no late visitors will be allowed to join this hike so please plan ahead due to limited parking on what is expected to be a very busy visitation day at Radnor Lake. Registered attendees should plan time to hike to the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center to ensure they can be there for the start of the hike at noon.
Registration is required, free but donations are encouraged. Ages 12 and above, no pets allowed. Visitors should wear good hiking shoes, bring insect repellent and plan on having a great time! Binoculars and cameras are not required but welcome for any visitor attending this moderate hike.
