PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: TN Arbor Day Guided Tree Identification Hike

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Join us on a guided tree identification hike as we observe and identify an array of trees on a 1.25-mile hike to celebrate Tennessee Arbor Day.

This program is designed for adults and children who are interested in connecting with nature and increasing their observations skills on a trail with gradual inclines and declines. Please see the Essential Eligibility Criteria below for more information on the trail.

You’ll leave this program with a new confidence in your tree identification skills and a deep appreciation for our natural world.

This guided hike will take about an hour, and tree identification guides will be provided. We will begin our guided hike on the Bunkum Cave Loop trail where you’ll make observations and explore your tree guide to determine the species of tree you are observing. Tennessee Arbor Day celebrates the importance of protecting wildlife, planting and cultivating flowers, and setting and protecting trees to create a better understanding of nature.

To make the most of this experience, we recommend dressing comfortably for outdoor activities and wearing sturdy walking shoes.

In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
