Description: Goforth and Prosper - Mindful Hike
Location: Hiwassee-Ocoee Scenic River State Park
Step away from the rush of daily life and join SIR Jes for a serene, reflective hike designed to refresh your spirit and quiet your mind. Intended for participants ages 16 and up, this slow-paced journey offers more than just a walk in the woods—it’s an opportunity to truly connect with nature through all five senses.
Mindful hiking invites you to notice the details: the texture of tree bark, the scent of the forest, the sound of wind through the leaves. This intentional way of moving through nature reduces stress, improves focus, and fosters a deeper sense of appreciation for the world around you. It also encourages a lasting sense of stewardship by reminding us that every step we take impacts the land beneath us.
This program is FREE , but we ask that you please register in advance so we know how many guests to expect. Programming provided in partnership with the Ocoee Ranger District of the Cherokee National Forest.. Participants will meet at the Middle Ocoee Put-In (Rogers Branch) and carpool to the Goforth Creek Trailhead, where the journey really begins. Along the way, expect to take your time, pause often, and engage fully with the natural environment.
Please come prepared with comfortable clothing, a bottle of water, and a mat or blanket for seated moments of reflection. Whether you’re new to mindfulness or simply need space to breathe, this hike offers a peaceful path to presence, gratitude, and renewed connection with the land.
