Description: Global Big Day 2026 Birding Walk
Location: Seven Islands State Birding Park
Pre-registration is required for this event
Celebrate Global Big Day with us by joining an early morning birding walk led by Ranger Stephanie Mueller! Global Big Day is a worldwide celebration of birds, where people across the globe go out birding and submit their sightings to help scientists better understand bird populations. Whether you're a seasoned birder or a beginner, this walk is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, learn about local species, and contribute to bird conservation through community science.
This program is recommended for ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:00 AM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2-3 miles over varying terrain. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The walk will include frequent stops to observe and identify birds.
This is a free program, but please consider a donation to the park to help us maintain the trails and gardens.
Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, a full water bottle, binoculars (we have some available to borrow, if needed), and weather-appropriate clothing. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
