Brownie Girl Scouts are invited to join Ranger Stephanie for a short program followed by a guided nature hike along the trails at Seven Islands State Birding Park to work on the requirements for the Brownie Ecofriend badge. There will be a short program on campfire/fire safety and Leave No Trace principles, and then we will go on a 1.5 mile hike. The hike will be on the paved Bobwhite ADA Trail between the entrance and the pedestrian bridge, but we will be hiking a 0.6 mile portion of the Seven Islands Loop Trail that is a grass/dirt trail (not paved).
Registration for this program/hike is $6 per person. Participants should plan on wearing appropriate footwear for walking on paved and unpaved surfaces and bringing bottled water with them. Participants should plan on meeting Ranger Stephanie at the Bluebird Barn at the main entrance at 1:00pm. The first part of the program will take place at the Outdoor Classroom on Hickory Ridge near the gardens. **The Brownie Ecofriend badge is not included in this program and would need to be purchased separately through your troop, online, or local Girl Scout shop.
