PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Galaxy in a Jar!

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Have you ever wanted to hold a galaxy in your hands?

Join us at the park to do just that and learn all about them!

This program is intended for ages 8-12. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are many reasons to study stars and galaxies! They can help us scientifically when it comes to anything nuclear, they can help us navigate, and they provide stories from the past from many different cultures!

For this program, all materials will be provided by the park. We will begin by discussing galaxies, stars, and their importance. Then we will make a galaxy of our own! You will be able to take your galaxy home with you afterwards.

For more information on how to prepare for this program please see the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria attached below.

In the event of inclement weather this event will be cancelled.
