Description: From Pod to Planet
Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park
Come learn how seeds travel with SIR Emmalee! She will read to you “Fluffy Flying Seed” by Mary Auld and then we will play a fun seed dispersal game!
This program is recommended for all ages and is perfect for those who want to learn more about seed dispersal.
Have you ever wondered how seeds spread? Us as humans use cars, bikes, planes, and many other forms of transportation to allow us to travel wherever we need to go. Like humans, seeds need to move around and spread out, but they have different means of transportation. How they travel can tell us something about the seed, and every seed has a story. Learning their story helps us understand how each seed plays a role in maintaining biodiversity and ensuring ecosystem health.
During this program we will meet in the park museum to learn about some of the ways a seed can travel, read “Fluffy Flying Seed” by Mary Auld and then we will play a fun seed dispersal game.
Please review the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria to prepare for the program.
In the event of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled.
