Join Ranger Hailee at the Lenoir Museum to learn to art of butter making!
Have you been wanting to expand your traditional homestead practices? This class might be for you. In this class we will be going over the history of butter making and its prevalence to Appalachian culture. We will also be making butter and buttermilk to take home!
This class requires the participants to vigorously shake a mason jar for up to 30 minutes. As well, we will be hand washing the butter. Make sure to wear clothes that can get dirty.
This program is intended for ages 12 and up. Anyone under the age of 15 must have an adult present with them. To participate, all participants must preregister for this event.
