Join us for Forest to Field Guide: Plant Foraging, Stamping, and Identification of Plants Found in Harrison Bay, an immersive outdoor program that combines natural history, art, and exploration.
Participants will meet at the Harrison Bay State Park Interpretive Center and venture into the park at the Star Walk trail to discover and identify a variety of native and naturalized plant species while learning the basics of plant identification, ethical foraging practices, and the important roles plants play in local ecosystems. We do not have to hike the entire trail, just enough to collect specimens.
After our exploration, participants will create their own botanical prints using plant stamping techniques, producing a unique nature-inspired keepsake while observing the intricate details that help naturalists identify species in the field.
