We're sorry. This event is no longer available, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
The far west burn unit is well on its way to being restored and in 2025 we had a very effective prescribed fire there. Fire adapted plants will be getting a jump on those that were affected by the fire. We’ll investigate the different responses of species to the recent fire. Some flowers will be up and there will be other interesting things to see on the way to the burn unit but we will keep up a steady pace. Participants will need to wear appropriate footwear. The terrain Is not steep but there are plenty of rocks, and trails can be muddy after rain. The round trip distance will be about 4 miles and even though it’s spring, the day could be hot. Check the weather forecast and wear appropriate clothing. Bring adequate food and water for a 5 hour outing.
