Description: First Day of Summer Sunrise Hike

Location: Cumberland Trail State Park

Join Ranger Martinez for a sunrise stroll at Black Mountain to welcome the first day of summer!

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration cut-off is 6/18. If no one is registered, the hike will not take place.

We will meet up at the Black Mountain parking lot (address 2000-3398 Black Mountain Rd., Crossville, TN, 38555) beside the radio tower at 5AM central time. We will then hike ~0.3 miles to the overlook to enjoy the sunrise from the southern-facing overlook (the sun rises in the east, so sunrise may be partially obscured). We will enjoy coffee provided by Ranger Martinez at the overlook (bring your own creamer or sugar if desired).

After enjoying the sunrise, we'll hike a short loop back to our vehicles while appreciating some of the geological features on top of Black Mountain, for a total of approximately 1 mile of hiking.
