Description: First Day Hike 2026
Location: David Crockett Birthplace State Park
Join us for a midnight hike through the Birthplace to start the new year!
Please dress accordingly for Hiking in East Tennessee Weather and don't forget to bring plenty of water.
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program, because we will be firing off a flintlock as the clock strikes midnight!
What do participants need to bring?
Flashlight or Headlamp
*Sturdy shoes (boots recommended) & a refillable water bottle
What are the conditions going to be like?
Unsteady grounds (both sand and mud)
NO FACILITIES AVAILABLE TO USE, ONLY 1 PORTABLE TOILET AVAILABLE
No children under 10, carpool if possible. All minors under 16 must have a participating guardian present.
Meet at Main Park Entrance/ Overflow Parking.
There are only 15 available participant spots for this program.
Registration for this event closes on Tuesday, December 30th.
ONLY THOSE REGISTERED ARE ALLOWED ON PARK GROUNDS!
In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled. Those registered will be notified by email.
