Description: New Year's Day Nature Hike

Location: Seven Islands State Birding Park

Pre-registration is required for this event

Program Description:

Start the new year outdoors with a refreshing nature hike at Seven Islands State Birding Park! This first-day walk invites participants to reset, reflect, and connect with nature while exploring the park’s winter landscapes. Along the way, we’ll look for birds, signs of wildlife, and seasonal changes that mark the beginning of a new year. Beginning the year outside fosters mindfulness, well-being, and a sense of renewal — a perfect way to welcome 2026!

This program is recommended for all ages. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 1:00 PM. Be prepared to walk 2–3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike will last approximately 2 hours with periodic nature stops along the way.

This is a free program, but please consider making a donation to the park.

Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, warm layers, a water bottle, and any personal items needed for cold-weather comfort. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
