Discover the ancient method of creating fire by rubbing sticks together. Learn the types of wood the Cherokee and other local tribes used, proper technique, and the history of this challenging but rewarding fire starting method. Try it yourself! Open to ages 7 and up. Program lasts for about 40 minutes. Meet in the longhunter camp near the ampitheater past Fort Watauga. Subject to location change or cancelation in the event of inclement weather.
