Join Ranger Graham at Roan Mountain State Park to explore the colorful world of Appalachian butterflies and learn how these delicate insects serve as important indicators of ecosystem health.
Participants will learn butterfly identification techniques, life cycles, habitat preferences, and the role butterflies play in pollination. The program will conclude with a hands-on preservation activity, introducing guests to traditional specimen preparation and butterfly pinning methods used by entomologists.
