This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join Interpretive Ranger Amanda at Rocky Fork State Parks campfire interpretive area for a guided on/off-trail hike into the hidden corners of the forest as we search for some of nature’s most intriguing organisms, mushrooms! Along the way, we’ll learn about the important role fungi play in the ecosystem, discuss their life cycle, and highlight common edible varieties found in the park. With chanterelle season around the corner, now is the perfect time to learn some tips and tricks to find these golden treasures emerging from the forest floor. This moderately strenuous 3-mile hike requires sturdy boots, long pants, and plenty of water.
