Description: Endangered Species Day Canoe Float at Pickett State Park

Location: TN Division of Natural Areas

We will begin our paddle at the Pickett State Park Boathouse on Arch Lake. A short paddle will lead us past the arch for which the lake was named, with information on its peculiar history, and on to multiple populations of, until recently, federally endangered Cumberland Sandwort. We will also have several bonus peeks at some hard to get to spots including Arch Lake’s secret arch and some great wetland habitat.

A canoe rental along with pfd’s and paddles are included in the registration fee but you are welcome to bring your own (please let us know which you plan to use).
