Description: Bats of Tennessee!

Location: Seven Islands State Birding Park

**Pre-registration is required for this event

Often misunderstood, bats play a critical role in healthy ecosystems by pollinating plants, dispersing seeds, and controlling insect populations. In this fun and informative program, we’ll spotlight some of the bat species that call Tennessee home—including those that are endangered—and explore how we can help protect them. Discover their fascinating biology, threats they face, and what makes these flying mammals so important to biodiversity.

This program is recommended for ages 6 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 7:00 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2 miles on a paved trail as we head to a good bat-watching spot. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will last about 2 hours and include a brief talk, interactive activities, and bat-watching at dusk.

The cost of this program is $10.00 per person. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.

Please bring a flashlight or headlamp, insect repellent, and water. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals
