Before pharmacies and grocery stores became part of everyday life, people turned to the natural world for remedies and food. Join Ranger Clare for an Edible and Medicinal Plant Walk at Seven Islands State Birding Park. During this 2–3 mile hike, we’ll explore the plants that have historically been used to treat common ailments and provide nourishment.
This program is recommended for ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 1:00 PM. Be prepared to walk 2–3 miles on natural, unpaved trails with uneven terrain. For more details about the route, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
The cost of the program is $12 per person.
Please wear sturdy shoes and long pants; a long-sleeved shirt is recommended to protect against thorns. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of water. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
