From birds inspiring the wings of airplanes to spinning maple seeds modeling how modern helicopters fly, the wild world is a master class in engineering! Budding builders ages 8 and up can join Kaden Payne outside the historic Fort Watauga at Sycamore Shoals for an exciting, 1-hour hands-on challenge that bridges science and history. Using the official Engineering Design Process, you will learn how to brainstorm, build, and test your very own eco-tower modeled after nature’s strongest designs. Come prepared to be outdoors with proper walking shoes and water, put your problem-solving skills to the test, and see if you can engineer a tower that stands tall against the elements! Please note this outdoor program will be rescheduled in the case of unfavorable weather.
