This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
On Friday, February 27th from 10:00AM-12:00PM, join Park Ranger Phil Hylen at the Roan Mountain State Park Visitor Center to learn the basics of fly-tying as you tie your very first fly - the Zebra Midge! While learning the basics, Ranger Phil will take you on a journey into the aquatic life of the Doe River to learn how to tie flies that would be on the menu for every time of the year.
This activity is limited to 10 participants and costs $15.00 per participant. All fly-tying materials and tools will be provided and your fly will be ready to fish at the end of the program. We will meet at the Roan Mountain State Park Visitor Center where a craft room will be set up with all the essentials.
