Description: Day After Thanksgiving Hike 2025
Location: Rock Island State Park
Join us for our annual Day After Thanksgiving Hike! We will be hiking the Downstream Trail and working off some of that turkey and those extra dessert plates we had on Thanksgiving.
The Downstream Trail is an approximate 1.7-mile loop that begins at Twin Falls and works its way downstream of the Caney Fork River. Along the way, we may expect to see wildlife such as Great Blue Herons, River Otters, Birds of Prey, Whitetail Deer, and more! Be sure to bring a camera to take some amazing photos, but also be sure to enjoy the moment and meet new folks who share the same love of the outdoors as you do.
There are no restroom facilities at the trail head, so be sure to stop by the park office before arriving. We recommend bringing sturdy close toed shoes, water, optional snacks, and dressing appropriately for the weather. We will meet at the parking lot at the end of Powerhouse Road at 10:00 AM.
Please call 931-837-4770 with any questions or additional information. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled, and all attendees will be notified. Please provide a good phone number and email when signing up.
