Description: Window Cliffs Creek Crawl!
Location: Burgess Falls State Park
Join SIR Frankie at the Window Cliffs gravel parking lot, where we will have a debrief on how we can determine water quality based on the organisms we find. Then, we will embark on our critter-catching adventure!
This program is great for all ages, and attendees will gain a basic knowledge of some of the aquatic animals found here. Keep in mind it is a rather steep 0.7-mile hike to the first water crossing, to the first creek crossing, where we will look for critters.
We will talk about some of the different types of habitats, why these critters are an important part of the ecosystem, and most importantly, we will have fun!
This program will last around 1 hour, and you should come prepared to get wet. Please wear proper footwear and bring plenty of water to drink!
In the case of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled.
**Please Note: Visitation to Burgess Falls State Park is very high on the weekends and parking is limited, so you may want to arrive earlier than the program start time to find a parking spot**
