This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join Park Rangers Ben and Josh for an introduction to basic compass use and land navigation. Participants will learn how to identify cardinal directions, take bearings, and navigate simple courses using a compass. Through hands-on activities and navigation challenges, you'll build confidence in finding your way outdoors while learning one of the most essential skills for hikers, campers, and outdoor adventurers. No experience is necessary.
We will meet at the Park Visitor Center, located at 11745 US-41, Monteagle, TN, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21.
This is a free program, and orienteering compasses will be provided for use during the class. Please bring water, wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather.
