Colorful Crawfish
Meet at the Hiwassee Scenic River State Park Boat Ramp
Did you know crawfish have lived here on Earth for more than 100 million year? These prehistoric creatures also come in many different colors, and sometimes are very vibrant. Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Andy for an afternoon program in the river where we will be catching crawfish, identifying each species we catch, and studying the anatomy of the animal. Please bring clothes you don't mind getting wet and water shoes, we will be wading in the river. All ages are welcome!
