Description: Cherokee Cryptids Can Drive
Location: Red Clay State Historic Park
Support the local community this season by joining us for our first can drive program! We ask that visitors bring 3 cans per person to participate. All donations will be given to The Caring Place in Cleveland, TN. Requested items include: canned chicken, canned tuna, chili, and other high-protein items.
You’ve seen Bigfoot, you’ve wondered about Mothman, you’ve heard tales of El Chupacabra; but what monsters, creatures, and warnings did the Cherokee observe in the dark woods of Appalachia? Ranger Taylor and Ranger Cord will be telling stories in the theater (indoors) to tell everyone about Cherokee Cryptids, and to show a bit into how the Cherokee people portrayed and communicated their cultural values through storytelling.
The stories can be a bit scary, so parents, please use your discretion when deciding whether or not to bring your children.
For more specific details about the program experience, please see the Event PDF.
