Join SIR Kandace to transform a block of basswood into a leprechaun figurine. You’ll learn basic carving techniques, practice safe tool handling, and add your own creative finishing touches. This program will introduce you to a timeless craft, build confidence in using carving tools, and provide a meaningful keepsake.
This program is recommended for adults ages 18 and up who are interested in learning beginner woodcarving skills and includes guided instruction, carving practice, and (optional) painting, if time allows. This program will last around 3 hours, and each participant will leave with a completed figurine.
All materials will be provided by the park, you must register to ensure we have enough supplies.
For more information on how to prepare for this program, please review the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
In the event of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.
