Description: BARK Ranger Hike
Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park
Is your dog ready to become an official B.A.R.K Ranger or wanting to earn more B.A.R.K Ranger swag?
Join us for a 1.25-mile hike around the Bunkum Cave Loop trail to learn what it takes to become a B.A.R.K Ranger and demonstrate those paw-ifications to earn your CHBSP B.A.R.K Ranger badge!
This hike is recommended for dogs who are ready and able to demonstrate the four principles of being a B.A.R.K Ranger including:
- Bag your pet’s waste and dispose of it properly
- Always wear a leash
- Respect wildlife and park visitors
- Know where you can go
Each dog and their owner will complete a short checklist while on Bunkum Cave Loop trail. After the hike we will meet at the Cordell Hull Birthplace Museum and giftshop to be sworn in as an official B.A.R.K. Ranger. Each dog will receive a CHBSP B.A.R.K Ranger badge and certificate of completion that they will sign with their paw print.
We will meet at the Bunkum Cave Loop trailhead to start our hike. To make the most of this experience, we recommended dressing comfortably for outdoor activities, wearing sturdy walking shoes, and brining water for you and your dog. Please also bring dog poop bags and dog leash. For more information on the hike please see the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria.
Registration is required for this program.
In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
