This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
June is National Camping Month, so there's no better time to learn the basics of tent camping! Join Ranger Jillian at the Campground Amphitheater at 10 am to learn everything from how to set up a tent to the types of meals you can cook over the fire! Knowing what to expect when camping can help you have a safe and exciting adventure in our parks. You will learn how to choose and set up a campsite, camping etiquette, general campground rules and procedures, and more. We will have demonstration equipment available to participants. Participants may also bring their own gear and supplies to test out, and may choose to camp if sites are available.*
Directions to the meeting place - enter the park on Hardin Dock Road. Continue straight until you reach the campground on the left. The campground is directly behind the campground office. Bug spray and sunscreen will be available at the amphitheater. Please bring water, any needed additional sun protection, and wear weather-appropriate clothing, as this program will take place outside.
*Please note campsite reservation is not included in your program registration. If you would like to book a campsite ahead of time, please visit our website at https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/pickwick-landing, call our reservation hotline at 1-888-TN-PARKS, or contact our office at 731-689-3129.
