Get ready to see the park's nocturnal habitat in a whole new light!
Discover the incredible, hidden world of the night at our Campfire Moth Party! We will set up a special viewing station using bright lights and white sheets to attract an array of our local moths and other fascinating nighttime creatures. Participants will get to act as citizen scientists, helping us observe and identify the unique patterns, colors, and sizes of the insects that land on the sheets throughout the evening.
While we wait for new winged visitors to arrive, you can relax and socialize around a cozy, roaring campfire. You will also have the opportunity to make your own caterpillar at our crafting station before the sunsets and the search for moths begins! It’s the perfect blend of outdoor education and nighttime relaxation, offering a fun, hands-on experience for nature lovers of all ages.
We will meet for the program at the friends porch fire pit, located near the playground parking lot.
