Description: Butter Churning Class at the Sadie Ford Heritage Farm [1 PM]
Location: Cedars of Lebanon State Park
Step back in time to the resourceful days of the 1930s Great Depression, when families relied on grit, creativity, and hard work to provide for their own. Gardens fed the table, hands stitched clothing, and fresh cream was transformed into rich, homemade butter right in the kitchen.
Now it’s your turn to experience this timeless tradition.
Join us at Sadie Ford Heritage Farm for a hands-on butter churning class where you’ll learn the old-fashioned way to turn cream into delicious butter. Feel the rhythm of the churn, watch the magic happen before your eyes, and discover how families once created this everyday staple from scratch.
You’ll customize and flavor your own creations — choose from plain, salted, savory, or sweet — and go home with fresh, homemade butter to share (or keep all to yourself!).
Be ready to churn for 20–45 minutes as part of this immersive two-hour experience. The cost covers all supplies.
Roll up your sleeves, embrace a little history, and taste the rewards of tradition!
