PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Native Bird Nestbox Building

Location: Rock Island State Park

We need some help constructing new nestboxes for our Collins River Prairie bird box trail. If you are willing to help us construct nestboxes that stay here at the park, then you have our thanks and the option of signing up for free!

You are also welcome to sign up to take a nest box home while supporting the birding program here. Or you can do one of each. When you are signing up, please add an additional "attendee" for every box you plan to build. Think of it more as an order per box, rather than a sign-up.

The particular nestbox we are working on this time is suitable for White-breasted Nuthatches, Tufted Titmice, Carolina Chickadees, and Prothonotary Warblers. Please note that the Chickadees benefit from a slightly smaller entrance hole, so please be sure to specify if you want a chickadee-specific nestbox when you sign up so we are sure to have the entrance hole at 1-1/8" instead of 1-1/4".

We will have the boxes pre-cut. They will just need assembling. Bring a Phillips head screwdriver if you've got one!
