Description: Breakfast with the Birds
Location: Hiwassee-Ocoee Scenic River State Park
Start your day with a bit of wild wonder! Join us for a special morning program where elementary and middle school kids can enjoy breakfast outdoors while getting up close with some of nature’s most impressive hunters—birds of prey!
While the cool morning air surrounds Gee Creek Campground, you’ll meet incredible birds like owls and hawks, learning all about their powerful features, fascinating behaviors, and the important roles they play in our ecosystems. Since many of these birds—especially owls—are usually only active at night, this is a rare chance to see them up close and in the daylight.
This engaging and educational experience is designed to spark curiosity and a love for the natural world, encouraging kids to explore and observe wildlife on their own. By connecting with these amazing animals, guests also help support their care and make future programs possible.
Guests should come ready to learn, ask questions, and enjoy the morning. Bring a bottle of water and anything else you need to stay comfortable while we meet the feathered stars of the show. It’s the perfect blend of breakfast and birdsong—don’t miss it!
This program is free for everyone to enjoy and registration is not required, but if you would like to donate to the care of our animal ambassadors, a donation link is provided.
