This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Blazing Star (Liatris spicata) is the star of the Deer Trail this time of year. The tall spikes of lavender hue attract swallowtails and other butterflies that drink the nectar to their content. Praying Mantis, Green lynx spiders and Wheel Bugs hide amongst the blooms and catch unsuspecting butterflies. All this only a short hike* from the office parking lot along the first 100 feet of the mile long trail. Don’t forget the camera for terrific butterfly photo ops and selfies. #LongHunterBlazingStars
Space is limited so please register to attend!
*The first 100 feet of the trail is flat. Grasses overhang the trail and it can be seasonably wet. Please use bug spray to deter ticks.
