This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Summer is full of life everywhere you look. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing and nesting, and pollinators are all the buzz. Join Ranger Stephanie for a guided hike along the Bobwhite ADA Trail and Seven Islands Loop Trails to learn about what wildflowers and plants are currently in bloom and the birds currently being seen and/or heard at Seven Islands. We'll also point out some of the pollinators in the park, including bees, butterflies, and other insects. Some of the natural history of the flowers, plants, and trees will be discussed. Participants will also receive helpful hints and tips on how to identify birds by sight and sound in the field. The hike will be approximately 2.5 miles and part of it will be on the paved Bobwhite ADA Trail, but some of it will be on dirt/grass trails on Seven Islands Loop Trail and the Island Loop Trail.
Registration for this hike is $8.00 per person. Participants should plan on meeting Ranger Stephanie at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM ET. Please wear appropriate footwear for hiking on paved and unpaved surfaces. Please bring bottled water with you.
If you have any questions regarding this hike please contact Ranger Stephanie at stephanie.mueller@tn.gov or 865-333-8270.
