This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Get started on your birding journey with this beginner friendly class to teach you the basics of bird spotting. Start in our conference room where we will learn about different bird behaviors, calls, patterns, and spotting techniques. Then, try out your skills during a short hike across a few different habitats of the park. Get expert knowledge from an avid birder and begin you new hobby with us!
This event will begin inside and have some outdoor elements. It is recommended that guests dress warm and in layers for the different environments. Please bring water and any cameras, binoculars, or other equipment you would like. Personal equipment is not required! There will be a limited park-owned binoculars available to guests as needed.
The hiking portion will cover a few portions of the day-use area. The terrain is mostly flat with a few steep hills that will be walked up and down. The hike will be around a mile total. A trail chair is available in the visitor's center for any guests needing mobility assistance. Please reserve the chair online in order to ensure availability. For any questions regarding the accessibility of the progra, please reach out to Ranger Hannah Bell through the listed phone number or email.
