Learn the fundamentals of setting up a small loom and explore the art of tabby weaving in this hands-on workshop. Participants will create a small woven placemat to take home. The $45 registration fee includes use of looms, yarns, and all necessary materials.
Participants are welcome to bring their own yarn or loom if preferred; however, personal looms must be pre-warped prior to the class. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
This class is recommended for ages 13 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a lunch, as we will take a short break during the session.
Instruction will be led by Sue Duncan, a retired park ranger from Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, who brings over 30 years of experience in historical interpretation and education.
This program is made possible through support from a grant provided by the Tennessee Arts Commission.
