This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Celebrate National Bat Week by joining us for a hands-on Bat Box Building Workshop at the Cumberland Trail! During this program, participants will learn about the vital role bats play in our ecosystems—from natural pest control to pollination—and how providing roosting sites can help support healthy local populations.
With guidance from park staff, you’ll assemble your own bat box using provided tools and materials, and learn how to properly mount and maintain it at home. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast or simply looking for a fun fall project, this event offers a great way to take part in bat conservation efforts.
All materials and tools will be provided during the program. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. We will meet for the program at 10:00 A.M. at the Head of the Sequatchie visitors center.
