Description: Basic Principles of Outdoor Survival

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Learn the basic principles of surviving in the outdoors. We will be covering basic shelter building, signaling, and what to do if you get lost. 

This program is designed for adults and children who want to learn more about basic nature survival.

You'll leave this program with greater confidence in your survival skills.

We will begin with a discussion about what to do if you get lost and the rule of threes. Then we will go to the trailhead to learn how to build a basic shelter.

To prepare for this program, please read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.

In the case of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled.
