Description: B.A.R.K. Ranger Independence Day Hike
Location: South Cumberland State Park
Interpretive Ranger Ashlyn invites you and your furry best friend to join us on an easy 1-mile hike around the Meadow Trail at our Visitor's Center. If you're feeling festive, dress your dog up in an Independence Day costume to compete for a 'Best Dressed' award!
While we're hiking, everyone will learn how to enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly with their pets by learning what the acronym B.A.R.K. stands for. After the hike, we will meet back up at our Visitor's Center where we will have the doggies sign their B.A.R.K. Ranger certificates and receive their official South Cumberland State Park B.A.R.K. Ranger Dog Tags (both included in the price).
All pets must be leashed for the duration of the visit to South
Cumberland State Park. Please wear good, sturdy footwear as some of the trail
can be a bit muddy at times and also bring plenty of water for you and your
furry friend. This is a rain or shine event, but if the weather is predicted to
be dangerous, the Park Rangers will cancel the event the day prior and issue
refunds to everyone.
