This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Happy Halloween and Zero Waste Day! During this spooky season, stop by the Miller Farmstead to learn more about one of the misunderstood species that characterizes Halloween and makes its home in Roan Mountain. Join Park Interpretive Ranger Andrea Price to talk about the important role bats play in the local ecosystem, different local bat species, and how humans can help bats survive and thrive.
Participants can also join Ranger Price to practice creative reuse by turning recycled toilet paper or paper towel rolls into a fun bat craft just in time for Halloween! All craft materials will be provided, but participants can help celebrate Zero Waste Day by bringing their own recycled toilet paper or paper towel rolls.
We will meet at the Miller Farmstead at 3:00PM.
