Say hello to Spring with an off-trail exploration of the wilderness surrounding Buggytop Cave. The most distinct and well known feature of Carter State Natural Area is the cave, however the land that surrounds it, which include the head of Crow Creek, are exceptional in its beauty, remoteness, and ruggedness. This 6-mile dayhike is completely off trail so participants should be prepared to traverse steep slopes and rocky terrain, negotiate thick underbrush and briars, and cross streams and creeks. Experience the side of the Natural Area that few people get to see.
