Meet Ranger Sloane at the Nature Center for a little friendly competition at our Atlatl Shootout! Join us to learn about one of humanity's oldest hunting tools; the atlatl, a spear-throwing device used by Indigenous peoples across North America for thousands of years before the invention of the bow and arrow.
After a brief introduction to the history and use of the atlatl, participants will have the opportunity to test their skills and accuracy in a fun target-shooting challenge. Whether you're competing with family or simply trying something new, this program offers a unique chance to experience an ancient technology firsthand.
All skill levels are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
