Description: Amphibious Kayak Adventure to Twin Falls

Location: Rock Island State Park

Join Seasonal Ranger Luke on a morning kayak float of the Caney Fork River. We will meet at the Sandbar Beach boat ramp at the end of Beach Road. We will begin at the Sandbar Boat Ramp and paddle upstream to Twin Falls. Along the way, we expect to see a variety of wildlife including aquatic mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Please wear sturdy shoes or sandals you do not mind getting wet, we will get out on rocks and take pictures at Twin Falls. We will also get the chance to see waterfalls first hand at the blue hole. If the Great Falls Dam is releasing water upstream, our course may be altered due to strong currents that may make paddling upstream difficult. All kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be provided by the park. Be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and snacks if you would like. This kayak float will last approximately 2.5 hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early so that we can hand out gear, provide you a safety briefing, and take care of any restroom needs. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled and you will be contacted by the park. If you have any questions, contact the park office 931-837-470
