This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
This year's After Thanksgiving Hike will be at Mound Bottom State Archaeological Area! Join us for an immersive guided hike to the Mound Bottom Archaeological Site, a hidden gem nestled along the Harpeth River in Cheatham County, Tennessee. This moderately difficult 1.5-mile hike takes you through a scenic natural landscape rich in history, flora, and wildlife, culminating at one of the most significant Native American mound centers in the southeastern United States.
Be sure to dress for the weather! The terrain is mostly gravel and grass, half shaded and half in an open field. Sunscreen is recommended, hats are advised. Make sure to bring plenty of water; snacks are welcome but there are no trash cans at the site. We will be adhering to "leave no trace" hiking practices.
If cancelled, you will be notified via email. Cancelations may be made in the event of inclement weather.
