This is a free-form felting class in which we will construct a tricolored bat to celebrate TPS Go Green's Bat Theme for the month of August!
This program is recommended for individuals at least 12 years and older. Teens and adults will have the most success completing their project.
Felting is the process of interlocking and compressing wool fibers to create a non-woven fabric. The practice of felting has been around in different iterations throughout most of human history. For this activity, we will be learning about the process of felting through a needle felting craft, which has been a popular crafting hobby since the 1970s. This program does use sharp needles for the felting process. We will focus on creating a tricolored bat, one of Bunkum Cave's beloved visitors.
This class is set for 1.5 hours, depending on skill level, it may make take a little less or a little more time to complete your project. To prepare for this program, please read the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria.
